The day after bad news, the sun still rises.

Someone laughs outside. A delivery arrives. The kettle begins to sing.

It feels offensive, the way the world continues.

How can traffic move when your life has stopped?

But then you drink the water. You answer one message. You open the curtain.

Not because you are healed.

Because the body, in its quiet wisdom, keeps choosing the next minute.
