10 reasons to love Drunk Elephant
Drunk Elephant is a brand on everyone's lips. Is this hype justified?
Here are the main ten points that brought me not to like but adore this brand.
They are clean clinical
Founder Tiffany Masterson has created a line that she calls ‘clean clinical’ using only biocompatible ingredients while keeping the highest percentages of actives at ideal pH levels synergistically blended with non-sensitizing ingredients.
No suspicious 6
Tiffany recognizes during her research on why her skin wasn’t the best six ingredients that were the cause of her skin problems and almost all the skin problems everyone has. She calls them the 'suspicious 6': silicones, essential oils, chemical screens, SLS, drying alcohols, and fragrance/dyes. Not finding any product who didn’t have at least one of these, she created her own.
Fast-growing skincare brand
This fast-growing skincare brand is Sephora’s best-selling skincare line. A trust-worthy brand that owns its success to a promise of ingredients that are good for your skin. If you don’t believe it, check some reviews on Sephora.com.
They don’t follow trends
Tiffany’s words speak for themselves: ‘I just have conviction in what I am doing and what works. We never follow trends, we just stick to our philosophy and the results speak for themselves. Just look at the hashtag. #barewithus’ Vogue, Jessica Diner, 7 Sept. 2018, www.vogue.co.uk/article/drunk-elephant-uk-launch.
A packaging to die for
Because of neon colors and ingenious ways to conceiving the packaging, you won’t have to worry anymore about where to store all your serums, but you can proudly use them as a way to fill empty spaces in your bathroom or to decorate that horrible piece of furniture your mother-in-law offered you for your birthday.
Skin like a baby
Everything about Protini Polypeptide Cream feels luxurious: the texture, the name (I mean!) and the after glow. The package has a petri dish on the top in which you are supposed to mix your serums (I mix Protini with C-firma) and then apply it all once. Having a mixed skin, I doubt a moisturizer, but only after the first application, I couldn’t stop touching my skin that felt like a baby. Not only does it moisturize, but it also reduces wrinkles and signs of sun-damage.
Goodbye makeup wipes
Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser is a non-sensitising and non-irritating jelly texture cleanser that will wash off all your insidious waterproof makeup without making you nuts. After using it, the skin feels soft and moist. You can say goodbye to dozens of dirty wipes around the house (who has time to throw them after a long day of work?).
Be drunk like an elephant
An African legend goes that elephant, just like the majority of humans, love getting drunk and they do so by eating off fermented marula fruit. No worries about being drunk here but quite the opposite. Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, considered as rehab for your skin, prevents from aging and has antioxidant benefits against environmental stressors and free radicals. Not sticky and sinks in the skin right after application. What do you want more from an oil?
Vitamin C all the way
Did you know that the guava towers over other types of fruit, including oranges, regarding vitamin C content with 377 milligrams per cup? While you are on your way to stock guavas in your fridge, remember that your skin needs vitamin C too! C-Firma Day Serum is super-powered vitamin C serum that will brighten the skin tone and correct discoloration with a non-tacky antioxidant formula.
Being a fan of how AHA’s and BHA’s exfoliate my skin, I was gladly surprised to see that T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum has 12% of it while other brands choose between a percentage of AHA/BHA that goes from 2% to 10%. The chemical exfoliant being mixed with horse chestnut and white tea extracts remains gentle on the skin while getting rid of all dead skin cells.
